Rolling Meadows, IL, July 23rd 2026 — Komori America today announced the successful completion of a 13-month beta testing program for the new J-throne 29 LED-UV B2+ sheetfed inkjet press in partnership with long-time customer 1Vision, a national commercial printing and direct mail provider.

Installed at 1Vision’s Houston, Texas production facility, the J-throne 29 underwent extensive real-world testing to validate productivity, reliability, print quality, and application versatility under demanding commercial production conditions. Following the successful completion of the beta program, the press is now commercially available throughout the United States.

The Komori J-throne 29 is a 23 x 29-inch B2+ sheetfed LED-UV inkjet press capable of producing 6,000 sheets per hour in simplex mode and 3,000 sheets per hour in duplex mode. Designed for commercial printing, direct mail, specialty applications, and short-run packaging, the press combines Komori’s offset engineering expertise with next-generation digital inkjet technology.

“1Vision proved to be an outstanding development partner throughout this beta program,” said Mark Milbourn, Executive Vice President of Sales and Service at Komori America. “Their willingness to operate the press under demanding production schedules allowed us to validate every aspect of the platform in a true manufacturing environment. The collaboration between our engineering teams and their production staff resulted in a highly refined, production-ready solution that commercial printers can confidently implement in their operations.”

Throughout the 13-month evaluation, 1Vision incorporated the J-throne 29 into daily production, running a wide variety of commercial print and direct mail applications while validating the press under real production conditions. The program evaluated the performance of Komori’s pallet-fed feeder and delivery system, advanced sheet transport, perfecting capability, Fiery® Digital Front End, LED-UV curing system, and workflow integration.

The project also focused on verifying consistent print quality across coated and uncoated substrates, optimizing changeover efficiency, and integrating production workflows with Komori’s connected automation initiatives. Feedback from 1Vision’s operators and production management helped refine software functionality, mechanical performance, and ink system operation, contributing directly to the final commercial platform.

“We have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Komori and have relied on their offset perfecting technology across multiple facilities for many years,” said Karl Kluetz COO of 1Vision. “Throughout this project, Komori demonstrated what a true development partnership should look like. Their team listened to our operators, responded quickly to production feedback, and continuously improved the platform during the beta process. Based on our experience, we believe the J-throne 29 is ready for commercial production and delivers the speed, print quality, and flexibility today’s printers expect from a next-generation B2+ inkjet press.”

The successful completion of the beta program represents an important milestone in Komori America’s digital inkjet strategy, providing commercial printers with a production-proven platform that complements traditional offset manufacturing while expanding opportunities for variable data printing, short-run production, direct mail, and high-value commercial applications.

The beta program and 1Vision’s production experience are also featured in a customer case study presented at Inkjet Summit, along with Komori America’s ongoing J-throne 29 educational video series, available on the company’s website and YouTube channel.

The Komori J-throne 29 is now available for customer demonstrations and commercial installation throughout North America.
