Based in Lubbock, Texas, Slate Group recently installed a Komori GL840P—an eight-color offset press that’s designed for speed, efficiency, and quality. Slate Group also uses their Komori GL540+C press which became the backbone of this special project, where every stage of production—from creative layout to final assembly—was completed entirely in-house by the Slate team.
The result? A set of Komori-branded capacity folders that combine functional design with striking visual and tactile embellishments.Project Highlights:
- Printed on the Komori GL540+C press
- UV and spot matte coating for a contrasting finish
- Heavy stock with precision die-cutting
- Hand-applied Velcro dots to secure expandable pockets
- Full-color offset printing with exceptional registration and color fidelity
“This wasn’t just a marketing piece—it’s a tactile example of what great design and production can do when combined with great equipment,” said Trey Laverty, Director of Sales Development at Slate Group. “From print quality to finishing, every element speaks to the value of true craftsmanship.”
“This project truly brings to life Komori’s brand message that ‘print is a value and a luxury,’” added Lance Martin, Vice President of Marketing at Komori America. “It’s also a fantastic example of how our press technology empowers printers to innovate and deliver standout pieces that resonate.”
The finished folders will be used by Komori America’s sales and marketing teams at trade shows, customer visits, and industry events—serving as a powerful example of what’s possible with Komori press technology and creative collaboration.
