Komori Announces First Installation of J-throne 29 in China at Grandprint and Open House Event

Komori Corporation (Sumida-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Satoshi Mochida; hereinafter
“Komori”) announces that its B2-size UV inkjet digital printing press, J-throne 29, has been
installed and has commenced full-scale operation at Henan Grandprint Co., Ltd. (Henan
Province, China; Chairman: Cui Wenfeng; hereinafter “Grandprint”). This marks the first
installation of J-throne 29 in the Chinese market.


To commemorate the installation, Grandprint hosted an open house event attended by
printing industry professionals from across China. Visitors observed live demonstrations of J-
throne 29 in production and toured Grandprint’s advanced manufacturing facilities.

Accelerating the Integration of Offset and Digital Printing
Grandprint is one of China’s leading printing companies, providing a wide range of services
including commercial printing, publishing, and packaging printing. The company has actively
invested in advanced production equipment and smart factory initiatives to enhance
operational efficiency and manufacturing capabilities.
Grandprint has installed multiple Komori offset presses and has maintained a long-standing
partnership with Komori over the years. The introduction of J-throne 29 is part of Grandprint’s

During the event, Grandprint Chairman Cui Wenfeng delivered a welcome address and
reflected on more than a decade of collaboration between Grandprint and Komori. He

first J-throne 29 installation in China, our confidence in Komori’s technology and service
capabilities has remained unwavering. Through this open house, we hope visitors will gain
new insights by experiencing our actual production environment firsthand.”

Live demonstrations of J-throne 29 featured short-run production and wide-color-gamut
printing applications. Visitors were able to examine print quality achieved across various
substrates, including the press’s high duplex registration accuracy. They also observed a
production workflow designed to efficiently manage a large number of short-run jobs.
The event additionally showcased Grandprint’s large-scale smart factory environment and its
integrated production model, combining offset and digital printing technologies. These
demonstrations highlighted the company’s comprehensive production capabilities and its
vision for next-generation print manufacturing.
